EtherNet/IP
to ASCII Generic Serial Communication Module
The ProLinx
family EtherNet/IP to ASCII Generic Serial communications
module (4201-DFNT-ASCII) creates a powerful connection between devices
on an EtherNet/IP network and ASCII devices. The module, encased in
either plastic or aluminum (ProLinx Plus 5000 series), is a stand-alone
DIN rail-mounted protocol gateway that provides a single Ethernet port
and up to four ASCII configurable serial ports.
The ASCII protocol driver permits the module to interface to many ASCII
devices. Each ASCII port on the module is configurable to send and/or
receive ASCII strings, each supporting its own individual serial
network.
The Ethernet/IP (DFNT) protocol driver supports the Explicit Messaging
implementation of the protocol. User-configurable as both a Client and
a Server, the EtherNet/IP port is a very powerful data transfer tool.

series), is a stand-alone DIN rail-mounted protocol gateway that
provides one PROFIBUS DP Slave configurable DB9F port and one IEC 101
Slave configurable serial port.
The IEC 60870-5-101 Slave (101S) protocol driver supports Slave
implementations of the protocol. The serial port is user-configurable,
providing a very powerful and flexible host or device interface
solution.
The PROFIBUS DP Slave (PDPS) protocol interface supports the PROFIBUS
V0 Slave implementation protocol, providing powerful data transfer

stand-alone DIN rail-mounted protocol gateway that provides one Modbus
Plus configurable DB9F port and one PROFIBUS DP Master configurable
DB9F port.
The Modbus Plus (MBP) protocol driver supports both Master and Slave
implementations of the protocol on the DB9 Female Modbus Plus port. The
Modbus port is fully configurable, providing a great deal of

protocols into the Schneider Electric Quantum family of processors as
